Alzheimer‘s disease is a progressive neurological condition that affects memory, thinking, and behavior. In addition to cognitive decline, some individuals experience psychosis. Symptoms of psychosis may include seeing or hearing things that are not there, strong beliefs that are not based in reality, and suspicion or mistrust of family members or caregivers. These experiences can be distressing and may significantly impact both the individual and their caregiver, creating additional challenges beyond memory loss alone.
