About Chronic Idiopathic Constipation

Chronic idiopathic constipation (CIC) is a long-term condition characterized by infrequent or difficult bowel movements without a known underlying cause. Over time, persistent constipation may affect daily comfort and quality of life. Even with dietary changes or over-the-counter treatments, some individuals continue to experience persistent symptoms and may require additional management.

Clinical research studies are important for evaluating new treatment options that may better address ongoing symptoms of CIC than those currently available.
