A clinical research study at Elixia Health in Springfield is seeking adults 18 to 65 years old who have been diagnosed with Bipolar I or Bipolar II and are currently experiencing a depressive episode for at least four weeks. Individuals may also qualify if they believe they have bipolar disorder based on symptoms such as extreme mood swings, decreased sleep, impulsivity, or depression.

Bipolar disorder is a mental health condition that affects a person’s mood, energy, and often causes shifts between depressive episodes and periods of elevated or irritable mood. Many adults with bipolar I or II disorder experience ongoing or recurring depression that can include feelings of sadness, low motivation, or difficulty concentrating.

Adults ages 18 to 65 diagnosed with bipolar I or Bipolar II disorder (or believe they may have bipolar disorder) who are currently experiencing a depressive episode that has lasted at least 4 weeks may qualify for a research study at Elixia Health in Springfield, evaluating an investigational medication.
Volunteers must be able to pass a drug test and have none of the following conditions: schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder, cataracts, open/narrow-angle glaucoma, retinopathy, bariatric surgery, short-bowel syndrome, or a history of seizures.
