Major depressive disorder (MDD), also known as clinical depression, is a common but serious mental health condition that affects how a person feels, thinks, and functions in daily life. Unlike occasional sadness, MDD involves a persistent low mood, a loss of interest in activities once enjoyed, and noticeable changes in sleep, apatite, and energy levels.
MDD can significantly impact a person’s quality of life, often interfering with work, school, relationships, and everyday responsibilities.
